Happy Healthy Mama Postpartum Meal Delivery is a meal delivery service specific to nourishing new moms and their families.

Each meal is made specifically with postpartum healing in mind and family meals are made to take pressure off of moms with healthy options the family can simply reheat when needed.

Caring for a newborn and healing after pregnancy and birth is all a new mom should have to worry about, especially during those first precious weeks.

Less stress, more snuggles!

What inspired you to start your own business?
I am a trained Holistic Nutritionist and Doula and wanted to combine my two passions in a way that would serve the community and moms in particular.

The Durham Region has become home to many people who are not from this area originally and as such they have no network or village to help them through those first weeks with baby. I want to help these parents navigate their new lives by providing nourishing foods and sharing with them my network of free and paid providers specific to this time in their lives.

What helped you when working with BACD and how did it impact you and your business?
The knowledge and encouragement of the advisors at the BACD have been invaluable. I have learned so much and been able to use that knowledge in practical ways for my business. I have been able to implement some of the strategies I learned and have a wealth of free resources at my fingertips now that I never would have found or heard of if it weren’t for the BACD. The network of entrepreneurial peers I have from the BACD has also been extremely helpful with feeling a sense of community in my business instead of feeling like I was “going it alone”.

Tell us about the growth of your business. How many employees, locations etc?
My business has grown from an idea to a recognized presence in the short four months I have been in business. I am seeing more business and more opportunities for networking and marketing than I thought would be available to me. I have been able to hire a branding consultant and am working with a social media manager to allow me the ability to focus on what I do best in helping new moms in the community.

What marketing strategies have been successful for you?
Using Instagram to its fullest potential has been extremely successful for me in gaining brand recognition as well as connecting on a personal level with my customers. Building a network of local businesses has also been very helpful as they are more than happy to spread the word about my services and I am more than happy to reciprocate.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own business?
Just start. You can fix mistakes along the way, but you won’t get anywhere by sitting and dreaming. Jump in and see where it takes you, scary as that may seem! You miss 100% of the shots you don’t make!
