We are one of 54 Small Business Centres in Ontario who provide FREE (conditions apply) business support for individuals wanting to start a business, or grow their existing business.

Most of our services are free to you because we are funded by the governments of Ontario and the Region of Durham to encourage economic development and success in Durham Region.

We also do offer additional services that are paid services. (see list of services) Our ultimate goal is to guide you in gaining the skills, knowledge, tools and resources to run a successful business.

When your business is successful you make money and spend money supporting our local economy thereby creating a thriving community to live and work in.

You can participate in the programs and services that best meet your needs, and our Certified Business Advisors can work with you personally to develop the business plans and actions you need for your success.

  BACD's Smart Start Program was an amazing program to help me get my business of the ground.  I had the pleasure of working with Business Advisor Patrice -she was absolutely amazing.  The information and knowledge I learned is invaluable in getting my business set up.  As a new business owner there are so many hats and tasks you have - the Smart Start Program has helped me identify the many different hats and tasks and the importance of due diligence when it comes to the administrative part of maintaining a business.  Prior to participating in the Smart Start Program my business was just a dream - Patrice and the Smart Start Program has given me the motivation to follow my business dreams and make my business dream tangible.

  I attended the Business Advisory Centre's online workshop "Create & Optimize Your Google Business Profile" hosted by Teresa Shaver. It was a very informative workshop and Teresa indicated we could reach out to her with any problems we were having verifying our Google Profile. My attempts to get my profile verified kept getting rejected.  I reached out to Teresa and she was able to assist me with getting the Google Profile verified.  She is very  knowledgeable and professional.  I enjoyed working with Teresa and am so VERY grateful for her help.
