After 20+ years helping large corporations scale through winning proposals, Leslie realized her skills could make a bigger difference elsewhere. She saw a gap in the market—smaller organizations often lacked access to professional proposal management. So she launched Reid Write Consulting to fill that void, offering high-level expertise with a personal touch.

“Most Proposal Managers are freelancers or work for big firms. I wanted to do it differently—create something local, strategic, and accessible.”

Leslie joined the Starter Company Plus program at BACD, funded through the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, working with advisor Patrice Esper to navigate the leap from corporate employee to entrepreneur. While she had deep expertise in her craft, she needed guidance on sales, marketing, and business operations.

“I knew how to deliver the service—I just didn’t know how to run the business. BACD helped me shift from a freelancer mindset to an entrepreneurial one.”

Through BACD, Leslie connected with other business owners, gained practical tools, and built a roadmap for sustainable growth.

Reid Write Consulting is currently a solo operation, run entirely remotely to support flexibility and work-life balance. As the business grows, Leslie plans to expand her team with grant writing specialists and offer proposal management training to organizations ready to build internal capacity.

Her long-term vision? To become a go-to resource for strategic writing and funding support across Ontario.
