My Narrative Therapy

My Narrative Therapy is an online counselling practice serving clients across Ontario. The team offers culturally responsive, trauma-informed care for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. With a diverse team of Black, Indigenous, and Therapists of Colour, the practice brings both professional expertise and lived experience to help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and intergenerational wounds.

Whether you’re working through personal challenges, relationship dynamics, or cultural identity, My Narrative Therapy provides tailored support that honours your story. Founder Kulsum Khan—a Pakistani Muslim Social Worker—created the practice to fill a gap in culturally competent care, offering a safe, affirming space for healing and growth.

With evening and weekend availability, direct billing, and immediate access to care, My Narrative Therapy blends accessibility with heart. It’s a place where clients can rewrite their narratives and step into a life that feels true to them.

Kulsum believes that when we change our narrative, we change what we see as possible. She saw how cultural expectations and past experiences often shape stories that keep people stuck. Her mission is to help clients uncover strength and resilience within their own stories, and to offer a space where healing and new beginnings are possible.

Kulsum came to BACD confident in her clinical skills but looking for support in business operations—planning, marketing, financials, and systems. Through the Starter Company Plus program, she gained mentorship, clarity, and practical strategies that helped her build a structured foundation for growth. With BACD’s support, she developed a clear marketing strategy and implemented systems that positioned My Narrative Therapy for long-term success.  The Starter Company Plus Program is funded through the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.

Currently, My Narrative Therapy is powered by a dedicated team of five professionals. As an online practice, it serves clients across Ontario without geographic limitations. The team is exploring opportunities to expand and bring on additional therapists to meet growing demand.

Social media engagement and guest speaking have been key to the practice’s growth. These platforms allow Kulsum and her team to connect with their community, share insights, and raise awareness about culturally responsive therapy.

Kulsum’s advice is simple and powerful:
“Do not let anyone hold you back. Take the leap!”
