I help women live their best lives through yoga and wellness education. While I teach all types of people, I find that my classes resonate the most with women going through big life changes.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always worked for myself, as a freelance copy editor before becoming a yoga instructor. I couldn’t imagine it any other way! I love being able to work at my own pace, see measurable growth in my business and follow my life’s work.
How did the help you got from BACD impact you and your business?
BACD has helped me make connections in the community, given me real feedback on my marketing materials and business plan, and encouraged me on my path. I’ve also gained a lot of practical skills from attending workshops in their space. Working with BACD has given me confidence in running my own business.
What marketing strategies have been successful for you?
The strategy that has been most successful for me is to come from a place of service and support those around me. I try to support the other small business owners and instructors in my community and I’ve found that the they, in turn, are excited to support me. When we work together, we grow together.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own business?”
A candles loses nothing by lighting another candle.” James Keller
There is more than enough work available for everyone. So much energy can be wasted on competing with others. Anger and bitterness hold so much negative energy and will push everyone away—even the clients you want to attract! You’re the only one who can run your business the way that you do. Be proud of that and capitalize on it when you tell your story.

BACD is such a wonderful resource for entrepreneurs. I wish I had come into the office sooner than I did.
