Jillian Hearne

Owner of Compassionate Caregivers

Local Durham wellness business that ensures care and wellbeing for seniors that strives to promote their independence, health, happiness, and focuses on meeting their physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Why Jillian became an entrepreneur:

Jillian Hearne started her company “Compassionate Caregivers” in 2010 after seeing a need for Private Care, both in her professional and personal life. After attending the University of Waterloo and Durham College, she found herself quite busy caring for her elderly grandparents and was struck by a health care system struggling to provide care to an increasing senior population. She started volunteering with seniors as she felt a real passion for their wellbeing, while at the same time providing private child care and pet care across Durham Region.  Her ultimate goal was to provide personal care for seniors that promotes their independence, health and happiness, and focuses on meeting their physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Compassionate Caregivers strives to honour the golden rule: “treating others as you would like to be treated” with the caregiver essentially becoming  not only part of the Care team, but also a trusted friend.

Services that the company provides include, but are not limited to:

  • Respite Care
  • Companionship (Including Exercise, Grooming, Activity, Conversation)
  • Medication Reminders
  • Meal Planning and Preparation
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Home Organization

  • and much more!

Care Plans are customized to suit the individual’s needs and to ensure that all facets of a Senior’s health care are met. Most of all, Compassionate Caregivers provides peace of mind for loved ones and family, and with the increasing senior population, there will surely be a growing need for Private Care in the future.  Just a few hours a week can make a world of difference.
