Radiant Psychotherapy and Wellness

A Practice Built on Compassion and Courage

Radiant Psychotherapy and Wellness provides compassionate, evidence‑based therapy for children, youth, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, chronic pain, chronic illness, and burnout.

The practice was created with a deep understanding that healing takes courage—and that people deserve a space where they feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Radiant specializes in supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves, helping them reconnect with clarity, confidence, and resilience.

Rachael’s approach is warm, humanistic, and trauma‑informed, integrating mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic insight, and relational work. Clients are met exactly where they are, whether they are a young person experiencing anxiety, an adult managing chronic illness, a couple working through communication challenges, or a first responder carrying invisible stress.

Where the Vision Began

Radiant Psychotherapy and Wellness was born from both professional passion and lived experience.

As a therapist—and as someone who has personally navigated chronic illness and burnout—Rachael witnessed how often people feel unseen or dismissed in systems meant to support them. She was inspired to create a therapeutic space that felt human, collaborative, and deeply compassionate rather than clinical or transactional.

Her vision was to offer therapy that honours the whole person: their nervous system, relationships, history, and resilience. At its core, Radiant exists because reaching out for help is an act of courage—and that courage deserves respect, empathy, and care.

Why BACD

While Rachael felt confident in her clinical training and vision, she knew that running a business required a different skill set.

She connected with the Business Advisory Centre Durham to build Radiant with both heart and strategy—seeking guidance around financial planning, sustainable growth, marketing, and long‑term structure. Her goal wasn’t simply to open a practice, but to build something intentional, ethical, and lasting for the community she serves.

BACD provided guidance, education, and local support that helped Rachael strengthen the foundation of her business. From refining planning and financial strategy to thinking more clearly about expansion, the support helped turn vision into practical structure.

Just as importantly, having trusted advisors reduced the overwhelm that can come with entrepreneurship. The ability to talk through decisions and plan thoughtfully allowed Rachael to grow with clarity and confidence.

Growing with Intention

Radiant Psychotherapy and Wellness has grown from a solo clinician model into a small and expanding team‑based clinic.

What began as a single vision has evolved into a values‑driven group practice serving children, youth, adults, and couples across Ontario. The clinic now includes multiple therapists offering virtual services, with in‑person services expanding this spring.

Growth has been intentional and values‑led. Rather than expanding quickly, Rachael has focused on building a strong clinical culture rooted in empathy, professionalism, and high‑quality care—ensuring that growth never comes at the expense of client experience.

Building Trust, Not Just a Brand

Radiant’s most successful marketing has been relationship‑based and values‑driven. A strong online presence, thoughtful social media content, and meaningful professional and community referrals have helped build trust and sustainable growth.

By focusing on clarity, consistency, and authentic storytelling, the practice continues to attract clients who align with its mission and approach.

A Source of Pride

Rachael is most proud of building a practice that is both clinically strong and deeply human. What started as a solo vision has become a growing, values‑driven team with an expanding in‑person presence—while maintaining warmth, integrity, and a high standard of care. More than the growth itself, she’s proud that Radiant is a space where clients feel genuinely supported and empowered in their healing.

Advice for Other Business Owners

“Build slowly and build intentionally. Sustainable growth comes from knowing your values, understanding who you serve, and making decisions that align with your long‑term vision. When your business is rooted in authenticity and purpose, it doesn’t just grow—it lasts.”
