KidzGlow Essentials
Nurturing Confidence, One Routine at a Time
KidzGlow Essentials is Canada’s first children’s bath, body, and wellness brand designed to make everyday self-care more meaningful for children.
Founded by Kenesha Haughton, KidzGlow combines gentle, kid-friendly products with empowering affirmations such as “I Am Brave,” “I Am Strong,” and “I Am Enough.” The goal is simple yet powerful: help parents transform everyday routines into opportunities to build confidence, resilience, and positive self-talk.
Designed primarily for children from newborn to age 10, the growing product line includes bath and body essentials, wellness products, and affirmation-based children’s books that support both physical and emotional well-being.
A Mother’s Inspiration
The idea for KidzGlow was born from one life-changing experience: becoming a first-time mom at age 45. As Kenesha became more intentional about the products she used on her daughter, she also became increasingly aware of the messages children absorb about themselves from an early age.
She wanted to create something that cared for more than just a child’s skin. She envisioned products that would also help nourish self-confidence and self-worth. What began as a mother’s desire to give her daughter the best possible start evolved into a brand with the potential to positively impact families across Canada.
Building More Than a Product
While Kenesha had a strong vision and meaningful products, she knew that turning an idea into a sustainable business required knowledge, planning, and support.
She sought out the Business Advisory Centre Durham to gain practical business guidance and to build KidzGlow on a strong foundation. Through the Starter Company Plus program (funded by the Province of Ontario), she gained access to education, mentorship, resources, and a community of entrepreneurs that helped her navigate the challenges of growing a business.
Growing with Confidence
BACD’s support helped Kenesha become a more strategic and confident entrepreneur. Through mentorship, business education, and funding opportunities, she gained deeper knowledge in areas such as business planning, marketing, and long-term growth strategy. Receiving a $5,000 Starter Company Plus grant provided an important boost for the self-funded business, allowing her to reinvest in operations, marketing, and expansion efforts.
More importantly, the support helped transform uncertainty into confidence and provided tools that continue to guide KidzGlow’s growth.
From Kitchen Table to National Retailers
Since launching in April 2025, KidzGlow Essentials has experienced remarkable growth.
Within its first eight months, the brand expanded beyond direct-to-consumer sales and secured distribution through all Ambrosia Natural Foods locations, Walmart.ca, and Well.ca, significantly increasing its visibility to families across Canada.
Today, KidzGlow continues to grow its collection of products while expanding its reach, building a brand that extends beyond skincare into wellness products and affirmation-centered children’s books.
What started as an idea at a kitchen table is quickly becoming a recognized Canadian children’s wellness brand.
The Power of Authentic Storytelling
For KidzGlow, marketing is about connection, not just promotion.
Kenesha has found that sharing her personal story as a first-time mom resonates deeply with parents who connect with the purpose behind the brand. This authentic storytelling has helped build trust and create meaningful relationships with customers.
In-person events, family expos, consumer shows, vendor markets, and social media engagement have also been instrumental in helping families discover the brand and understand its mission.
Rather than simply selling products, KidzGlow focuses on sharing why the products exist and the impact they can have on children and families.
Celebrating Meaningful Milestones
Kenesha is proud of how much KidzGlow has accomplished while staying true to its mission.
In addition to securing retail partnerships with major Canadian retailers, she was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Black Women to Watch 2026 in Business & Entrepreneurship, and KidzGlow received a nomination for a 2027 Canadian Choice Award.
Yet the achievements that mean the most are often the simplest. Hearing parents share stories about their children confidently repeating affirmations like “I Am Brave” and “I Am Strong” is a reminder that the brand is making a difference in everyday lives.
A Message for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
“Start before you feel completely ready, but be intentional about where you’re going.”
Kenesha believes that entrepreneurs don’t need all the answers before they begin. Success comes from taking action, learning, adapting, and remaining committed through both challenges and opportunities.
Her advice is to stay consistent, seek support, remain flexible, and trust that small steps taken every day can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
Looking Ahead
Although KidzGlow has already achieved impressive milestones, Kenesha sees this as only the beginning.
Her vision is to continue building a proudly Canadian brand that reaches more families while helping children develop confidence, self-worth, and positive self-talk from an early age.
Through the simplest everyday moments, KidzGlow aims to remind children that they are brave, strong, enough, and capable of becoming anything they dream of.
