Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue is licensed by the Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry and Canadian Wildlife Services to rescue, rehabilitate and release sick, injured, abandoned and orphaned wildlife.
They are Durham Region's only wildlife rehabilitation centre. They travel across Ontario with native wildlife educational programming to teach children and adults about back yard conservation.
Stefanie MacEwan is the founder and licensed wildlife custodian. Stefanie’s passion for wildlife prompted her to leave her job and start Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue. The funds from BACD helped Stefanie reach a larger potential audience through trade shows and marketing. Stephanie markets her business through social media, community events and trade shows. Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue has taken in over 1000 animals and released just over 900 since April. They have met over 250,000 children through our programming in 1 year.
