Pour-et Teas Inc

Welcome to Pour-et Teas, where every sip tells a story. Founded by Tracy Francis, Pour-et Teas handcrafts small-batch, caffeine-free herbal teas that are ethically sourced and infused with poetry. This unique blend of tea and storytelling creates a wellness experience that nourishes the body, sparks creativity, and builds community.

Whether you’re seeking focus, calm, energy, or a moment of reflection, there’s a Pour-et blend for you. Rooted in Pickering and loved across the GTA, Pour-et is more than a tea company—it’s a soulful movement steeped in storytelling and brewed for well-being.

Founder’s Inspiration

Tracy’s journey began with two passions: tea and poetry. Hosting intimate gatherings where guests shared spoken word over tea, she discovered the power of slowing down and connecting. That experience inspired her to create Pour-et Teas—a space where tea becomes a ritual of reflection, creativity, and community.

How BACD Helped

Starting a business from passion is one thing—turning it into a sustainable, scalable venture is another. Tracy turned to the Business Advisory Centre Durham (BACD) for the tools, mentorship, and structure she needed to bring her vision to life.

Through the Starter Company Plus program, BACD provided:

  • Strategic Mentorship: Tracy worked closely with her advisor, Patrice Esper, to refine her business model, pricing strategy, and growth plan.
  • Funding Support: The grant helped her invest in professional packaging, making her products retail-ready and visually consistent—an essential step for scaling.
  • Business Structure & Accountability: The program offered a clear roadmap, helping Tracy move from idea to execution with confidence and clarity.
  • Networking Opportunities: BACD connected her with a vibrant community of entrepreneurs, mentors, and local business owners. These relationships led to new collaborations and a full-time stall in a local store, significantly boosting visibility and sales.

“BACD didn’t just give me funding—they gave me structure, confidence, and momentum. They helped me turn my passion into a business with purpose and potential.”

Business Growth

Pour-et Teas is currently a solo-run business without a permanent storefront, but its growth is steady and meaningful. Tracy has expanded her reach through community events and partnerships with local businesses, churches, and restaurants. With a strong foundation and growing momentum, Pour-et is ready for its next chapter.

Advice from Tracy

“Start with your why. Let your purpose anchor you. Don’t wait to be ready—start small, test your idea, and stay open to feedback. Progress over perfection. And surround yourself with support—you don’t have to do it alone.”
