Joint Health
Joint Health, founded by chiropractor Dr. Brennan Dynes, is a mobile healthcare company delivering on-site musculoskeletal care to individuals, families, workplaces, and community organizations across Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area.
Built around the idea of healthcare that comes to you, Joint Health brings professional care directly to the places people live, work, and move. By reducing barriers such as travel time, mobility limitations, demanding schedules, and difficulty attending a traditional clinic, the service makes healthcare more accessible, practical, and responsive to real life.
Joint Health provides evidence-informed assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and movement-based care for a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns. Its mobile and on-site model is particularly valuable for busy professionals, seniors, families, employees, and others who may find it difficult to access care through a conventional clinic setting.
The vision for Joint Health grew from Brennan’s experience as a clinician. He repeatedly saw patients postpone or go without care because of transportation, mobility, family responsibilities, work demands, and scheduling challenges. He wanted to create a healthcare model that met people where they were—both literally and in terms of their individual needs and circumstances.
Starting Joint Health allowed Brennan to rethink how community-based healthcare could be delivered. Rather than expecting every patient to travel to a clinic, Joint Health brings experienced healthcare professionals directly to homes, workplaces, and community settings.
As the business developed, Brennan sought guidance in areas beyond clinical practice, including business structure, marketing, systems development, financial planning, and sustainable growth. He turned to the Business Advisory Centre Durham for:
- Support refining the company’s value proposition
- Greater clarity around strategic decision-making
- Tools for building stronger operational foundations
- Guidance navigating the entrepreneurial side of healthcare
- Accountability while developing a long-term growth strategy
Through one-on-one advisory support and structured programming, Brennan gained valuable insight into business planning, financial management, marketing, operations, and scalable service delivery. BACD also provided a professional sounding board that helped him approach important decisions with greater confidence and intention.
Participation in the Starter Company Plus program, funded by the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, helped Brennan shift from operating a mobile chiropractic practice to building a more structured, scalable, and growth-ready healthcare company.
Since then, Joint Health has continued to expand its reach and capabilities. Growth highlights include:
- Providing mobile and on-site care across Durham Region and the GTA
- Growing its patient base and geographic service area
- Building a network of independent healthcare professionals
- Expanding workplace and community-based health services
- Developing new service models for organizations and community partners
- Creating stronger operational systems to support sustainable growth
Joint Health is building a multidisciplinary network of healthcare professionals who share a commitment to accessible, patient-centred, and evidence-informed care.
Looking ahead, Brennan plans to continue expanding the company’s practitioner network, broadening its on-site service offerings, and creating new partnerships with organizations across the region. The long-term vision is for Joint Health to become a trusted mobile healthcare provider delivering high-quality musculoskeletal care throughout Ontario.
Advice for Other Entrepreneurs
“Start with a clear understanding of the problem you are solving and who you are solving it for. Don’t underestimate the value of mentorship, community resources, and guidance early in the process. Be patient, remain adaptable, and remember that building a business is a long-term commitment.”
Running a small business brings both challenges and rewards, but support from organizations such as BACD can provide entrepreneurs with greater clarity, perspective, and direction. Joint Health is proud to serve communities across Durham Region and the GTA, and Brennan is grateful for the resources that have helped the business grow.
