Courtney and her team of 8 talented beauty professionals are all about helping you feel confident, radiant, and totally unstoppable.
Why Courtney Started You Beauty Bar
Courtney launched You Beauty Bar with a mission: to create a space where women feel celebrated, empowered, and seen. After noticing a gap between high-end salons that felt intimidating and smaller studios that lacked full-service offerings, she built the best of both worlds.
For Courtney, beauty is about more than how you look — it’s how you feel. And You Beauty Bar is all about helping you feel your best.
How BACD Helped
Opening a salon just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit was no easy feat. Courtney turned to BACD for guidance, mentorship, and resources to navigate the uncertainty. Through the Starter Company Plus program (funded by MEDJCT) , she gained:
- Business planning and financial management tools
- Marketing strategies tailored to her audience
- Support navigating grants, safety protocols, and long-term growth
- A network of fellow entrepreneurs and mentors
BACD helped Courtney turn a challenging start into a thriving, community-driven beauty brand.
From a solo dream to a full-service salon, You Beauty Bar has grown into a team of 8 specialists offering a wide range of beauty services. The salon continues to evolve, with plans to expand its education programs, grow its online retail store, and create more opportunities for women in the beauty industry.
Instagram has been a fantastic strategy for You Beauty Bar. By showcasing real transformations, behind-the-scenes moments, and the vibrant personalities of her team, Courtney has built a loyal community that trusts what they see online — because it’s exactly what they experience in the salon.
Courtney’s Advice to Aspiring Entrepreneurs
“Every successful brand started as someone’s ‘what if.’ Lead with passion, stay consistent, and surround yourself with people who lift you up. Learn the business side as much as the creative side — and never stop believing in your vision.”
