How did BACD help you get started and pursue growth?
For my business, which is a service business, what was the most helpful was to have BACD’s extensive online resources, as well as the Business Fundamentals seminars. The ones that were the most useful to me were Business Planning and Marketing & Sales. In addition, the meeting I had with one of the BACD Advisors offered some good suggestions that I hadn’t considered. I also appreciated their support by following up on how things were going with my business.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own business?
Research/do your homework before getting started and then do your planning. Don’t skimp on this part. Pick a business/service where there’s some demand or uniqueness to what you’re doing/offering and choose something you’re passionate about. Network as much as possible by attending workshops/seminars/events and talk to people about their experiences.
