Jim has quite literally grown up in this business, continuing the legacy of insurance excellence in the Durham Region started by his father Harold Roughley back in 1945.

As the principal owner and a managing partner of the brokerage, Jim is committed to carrying on his father’s tradition of building a successful business based on exceptional service and innovative insurance products.

Harold founded his brokerage on the following principles, which remain at the core of the business today:

• Clients need someone to speak for them during the claims process.
• A client referral is the highest standard of achievement.

As an owner/operator Jim is extremely involved in all facets of running a successful business. He spends the better part of each day serving the needs of his clients, but also keeps his finger on the pulse of the comings and goings of the team in the office. Under Jim’s leadership, the Roughley team has grown in size, but the company has never wavered in its focus on providing a level of customer service and care that is unsurpassed in the community.
