A Blooming Vision Rooted in Sustainability
Rossahut Inc. isn’t just a floral business—it’s a movement toward sustainable beauty and meaningful experiences. Founded by Kiruthika Vamatheavan, Rossahut creates eco-friendly preserved roses that last between one to five years. These aren’t your average flowers. They’re a luxurious, long-lasting alternative that speaks to the heart of conscious gifting and elegant décor.
But the magic doesn’t stop at the roses. Rossahut has blossomed into a unique destination in Oshawa, where floral artistry meets café culture. The Rossahut Café, located at 02-100 Bond Street East, is a cozy, creative space where guests can sip handcrafted drinks, browse stunning arrangements, and soak in the ambiance of a business built on passion and purpose.
Kiruthika’s journey began with a simple but powerful idea: to celebrate life’s moments in a way that’s both beautiful and sustainable. Her love for nature, design, and community inspired her to create a brand that goes beyond aesthetics. She wanted to build something that would leave a lasting impression—on people and the planet.
Starting a business is never easy, and Kiruthika knew she needed the right support to bring her vision to life. That’s when she connected with BACD and joined the Starter Company Plus program in 2022.
Finding Her Footing with BACD
Kiruthika came to BACD looking for clarity, structure, and strategic guidance. She needed help with business planning, funding options, and navigating the early stages of growth. Through the Starter Company Plus Program (funded by the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade), she gained access to expert mentorship, practical resources, and a community of entrepreneurs who understood the journey she was on.
“BACD gave me the tools and confidence to move forward. Their support helped me refine my business strategy, secure funding, and build a strong foundation for growth.”
With BACD’s help, Kiruthika didn’t just launch a business—she built a brand with purpose. The mentorship she received helped her make informed decisions, stay focused, and scale her operations with confidence.
Growth, Community & Connection
Today, Rossahut operates out of one vibrant location with two dedicated team members. The café has become a local hotspot for creativity and connection, attracting customers who appreciate the blend of floral elegance and cozy charm.
Kiruthika’s commitment to community shines through in everything she does. From hosting events to collaborating with local businesses, Rossahut is more than a retail space—it’s a place where people come together to celebrate, connect, and be inspired.
Rossahut’s marketing strategy is rooted in authenticity and visual storytelling. Instagram has been a powerful platform for showcasing the brand’s aesthetic, engaging with customers, and building a loyal following. Kiruthika also leverages word-of-mouth referrals, special promotions, and community events to keep the buzz alive.
“Social media has helped us connect with our audience in a meaningful way. It’s not just about selling—it’s about sharing our story and building relationships.”
Kiruthika’s journey is filled with lessons, and she’s passionate about sharing them with aspiring entrepreneurs:
“Start with a clear vision and strong plan, but stay flexible. Surround yourself with mentors, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to take risks. Believe in your idea and keep going—even when it gets tough.”
Entrepreneurship is a journey of growth, resilience, and impact. For Kiruthika, building Rossahut has been a labour of love—one that continues to evolve and inspire. She’s grateful for the support she’s received and excited about what’s next.
“I’m proud of what we’ve built and the community we’ve created. Rossahut is more than a business—it’s a reflection of my values, my vision, and my commitment to making a difference.”
